Preservation Resources and Facade Grants


1/18/2017 deadline for exterior preservation grant:


The East Tampa Community Redevelopment Area offers facade grants of up to $50,000 for the refurbishment of retail and commercial properties. More information can be found here.


In addition, if your property is located in the Ybor City National Historic Landmark District, you may be eligible for a low interest loan or grant to rehab your historic property. More information on this program can be found on the City website.

Academy Prep

Academy Prep Center of Tampa is a rigorous private middle school located in the heart of the V.M. Ybor Community. Students attend school 11 hours per day, 6 days per week, 11 months per year.  Academic classes are taught separately by gender.  Need-based scholarships are available for all qualifying students.  Learn more about this great community resource based in our own backyard!

A database of vacant houses was generated - originally by crime watch members, and updated by Code Enforcement. Please review the list and check on vacant properties that may be near your home or business. Note any omissions or corrections by contacting us (info@vmybor.org), and REPORT any open, vacant structures to Code Enforcement. As always, TPD's non-emergency line is (813) 231-6130.

Going on vacation? Consider downloading the Vacation Watch Form and submitting it to the TPD Patrol District Neighborhood Affairs Liaison - Kristina Duran (813) 242-3800 or via email Kristina.Duran@tampagov.net.  The information you provide will be given to the officers that patrol VM Ybor.  On the day after your indicated date of return the form is destroyed.
